This one is almost like mine will be soon, so I like this.
AMD Phenom 9650 x4 (4 CPUs)
Patriot 4GB DDR2 RAM
(Getting this soon) HIS Radeon HD5770 1GB
1TB Samsung HDD
Corsair 450w
Asus M4N78 Pro
This motherboard is almost perfect for what I need, and it doesn't support DDR3 unfortunately.

Also, I'm just fine with DDR2. I probably wouldn't notice much of a difference, and this serves me just fine

Only $3000.
I might actually get that soon. Or a laptop with similar specs.

Ohoho, laptop with this specs xD
It will never be as powerful as a PC.
And don't buy GTX480. Buy HD5890.

There is no such thing as a HD5890.

Also, the 5850 is the same as a 5870 if you overclock it, so the 5870 isn't worth the extra.

There is so much wrong with this thread, truly and honestly, I do not have the time to correct it all. Jesus.

Also, where is the £1500~$2000 bracket?

A PC that costed about 1k is enough. More money put in your computer right now is jus a waste.
Really?

If you do heavy video encoding or rendering, you will benefit from a 6 core, or an i7 w/HT, and 8 - 16GB RAM, as you will use it.

I put close to £1500 into my current PC, it's not a waste if you use the hardware that you buy.

Also, you have no SSD's in the selection, which is laughable as they are the perfect boot drive, and you always choose Corsair RAM, which is overpriced, there are much better options out there with lower latencys for less. Don't even get into a Tech related argument with me. You will lose.

SSD hard drives boot much faster, but their life span is highly decreased.

Plus, the max one can hold is 100GB, unless you buy 4.. and that's like 900$? yeah.. waste.

Yeah? they made 10x 100GB's SSD's and put them into one on the same SATA channel..

Technically that still means you were wrong because there are 1TB models on the market.

Also, SSDs*

Just like i said, they made a thicker case and added a bigger SSD disk into it.

But 1TB models are available. You said they didn't make them at all, you never specified how they made them or not.

Uhm, Maffia pointed that there was 1TB models about 4 posts ago.

Why are you mentioning it again? o.o
