Well the Warez board "Developed" into an entirely new forums, So I was HOPING we could do the same thing for Graphics (pls?!)

We could use PHPBB because its sexy, I already started(ITS NO WHERE NEAR DONE) customizing a theme :)

I'm not sure about the name in that pic ^, If it happens we could probably think of something more creative than "TMSGfx" or "GFXFFS" :dry:

1) I can't find any decent themes for SMF that look nice and graphical, like a gfx forum should have :\
2) PhpBB Is POWAFUL and AWESOME and perfect for a forum like this
 
I can host this forum if you'd like, It take some load off of TMS's account.

Also, let's decide on a domain...
 
A GFX forum?

There aren't that many posts at all in the GFX section of TMS :/

Maybe we should first expand the GFX boards in this forum and see how it goes before giving it it's OWN forum :wink:
 
Well maybe there isn't that many posts in there because its part of another forum, and its kindof unorganized

But if this gets made it doesn't even have to be a replacement for the graphics board, it doesn't even have to be affiliated with TMS (But it would be nice if it was)

Like Jonathan said, he could host it for free, and we could even use a .co.cc domain until either something better comes up or until Jonathan starts offering free .com domains like he said he MIGHT do SOMEDAY.


I didn't see too many posts in the Warez board, but you upgraded that :innocent:

Making a gfx forum could lure in some Photoshoppers if it gets good and word gets around, and the site could get big. That in turn could bring some new members to TMS because we'd be talking about it all the time, and have ads for it :tongue:
 
Well it's a pretty good idea, but I don't have the time to maintain the forum.
I can host it of course, no need for Jonathan to do this.

Well I have no idea how to do shit, I guess I can just admin it. If Jonathan wants he can take care of all that stuff because he knows how xD

Well,
You're hosting SF-SF, UpFFS, TMS, TMS Forums, DMP, and and a few other sites on one hosting acc/server.

I can host it on my server it's pretty fast and has quad-core Intel XEON's.

I have an auto-installer for Fantistico, a site builder, Unlimited Disk-space/bandwidth, Add-on domains, Unl FTP acc's, Anonymous FTP, Unlimited MySQL, SSH, cPanel 11.

Besides, that many DB's in one account starts to clutter things up and you can reach your MySQL connections limit...Remmber all hosting sites say things are "Unlimited" but when you overuse some stuff and start to affect other users on the server then they suspend your account.
(Also, i have CPU limits (20% CPU usage for over 5 minutes of the entire server then i suspend for 5 minutes, However the chances of reaching 20% are unlikely since i have a hardware firewall (Which protects against DDoS) + I have a PHP script that can protect against DoS and some forms of DDoS.


I can handle all of it if necessary, But that's your choice, Mave.

I'm ~300 miles away from my Cheetah server (Cheetah = Dallas, Texas.)

The max download i ever had was 1.2 MB/s and that was from 250 Miles away (San Antonio)

Mave can host it, but he can't manage it. Neither can I because I don't know how, Who wants to manage this? I'll just do graphics for it.


Actually once (IF) it launches I'm going to post the theme folder and whoever wants to will be able to edit images, make a preview and post it. If people like their update, it will be used.

After all, this is a GFX Forum and should encourage doing gfx :tongue:
 
Well I'm capable of managing it.

I know how to assess 99% of problems on phpBB and SMF.

Such as connection problems to the DB (Just make sure the DB exists and has the right username/password defined in the config file)

I can also add my Anti-DOS script to the site, Just put ""<?php include("antidos.php"); ?>" in the template/board index.

I run/manage a web-host and i was a web designer, So if I'm in any way incapable of managing it then please, Tell me D:
