This link is useful, if you are lazy to install CMS for testing or if you are looking for a perfect CMS. The site contains a huge CMS database with live demos (you can even test the CMS as admin).

There isnt a best. It depends on what kind of site you have.
Joomla and Typolight are good for everything though, but these are not the best for some kind of sites.
 
IMO Joomla is hard to work with, wordpress is very good, but is more like a blog only
