Believe it or not, Apple weren't bullshitting when they said part of the reason was performance.
Let's take YouTube, for example.
Currently, YouTube has a native app, programmed and compiled for iOS. Videos are direct streams, which are one of the few things in memory while playing. Videos...
Fries is right. The article he linked to, as well as the article that's sourced from, say 10%/1 in 10 US visits.
I read this a few times, though, and I definitely would have thought it meant 10% of worldwide visits.
Sigh.
"one out of every four pageviews in the United States" - 1 in 4 = 25% = 25% of US pageviews.
"that’s 10% of all Internet visits." = 10% of all pageviews from worldwide internet usage.
Re: 4chan vs. Tumbler: War Declared
"Tumblr" was written in your post 14 times, and you still managed to get the title wrong. :(
But yeah, Tumblr is fucked, the war is gonna continue until it dies. If you search for 4chan tags on Tumblr, you'll see lots of "OMG NOOOOO" and "SORRY 4CHAN" posts...
LOL.
This has been in since Vista, almost everybody knows about it.
Without a scheduled registry hack, this only works 4 times. (and it only resets it to 30 days, meaning 120 is the total possible number of days extra)
But...
And that topic is basically a lot of random Minecraft stuff, considering how many people here play it, a board for it could be much more useful.
Minecraft should totally have it's own sub-board in Game Discussion.
Half of the active community here plays it, and it's fucking awesome.
We can show off our awesome maps, discuss the game, advertise good SMP servers, etc... The Minecraft Discussion topic is getting rather big.
Please. :)...
To answer that seriously, I believe The Nether has the same limitations as the original world, ie. it's "eight times the surface of the earth"
That means that once you pass one eighth of the Minecraft map while in The Nether, you will have reached the limit if you want to teleport out. Someone...
That's definitely one of the worst ideas for porting a game.
If you check their Twitter account, they've been posting updates. It's being rewritten as a native iPhone app (in Objective-C, using OpenGL on iOS), it seems they're trying to get as close a clone as possible without being the exact...
Apple disabled it for a reason - trust me, you really don't want to put your 128MB-of-RAM-filled-iPhone through the rape of trying iOS 4+ multitasking.
Minecraft is fucking awesome, myself and one of my friends made a massive vagina while we were bored.
It's also incredibly addictive, I've stayed up until about 5 am playing. :P
Also, iMinecraft anyone?
Agreed.
IE 9 does suck, because it's taken far too long to get to beta stage. By the time it's released, other web browsers will be way ahead of it, again, with newer standards supported, speed improvements, etc.
