Can you imagine being a homosexual trapped in a concentration camp during the second war, seeing all other prisoners get liberated and then the allied military government is like "Hold on, what does that pink triangle mean?" "You're gay?" "Looks like we won't liberate you".
Because that's exactly what happened. The British even tortured, imprisoned, and fed estrogen to Alan Turing (a computer science pioneer that cracked the German's transmission code which helped win the war) until he committed suicide.
So there you have it, even the allied were not 100% "good".
