Left 8 Dead announced

In a press release today Valve uncovered the first add-on for Left 4 Dead 2, The Passing, where players will meet up with the original cast from the first Left 4 Dead. In addition to the filled-out cast, The Passing will also bring a wealth of new gameplay with new weapons, an uncommon common zombie, a new co-op challenge mode and new arenas for Survival, Versus and Scavenge modes. The Passing is set for an early 2010 release for the PC and Xbox 360. Price is to be announced.

I really have been thinking that "Left 4 Dead" is like "Left for Dead" so you're a guy to fight the dead people. But seriously is the 4 there got to do with the amount of characters in the game?
