Now realize how fucking powerful that press has to be. It's incredible.

Also, this has to be the most wasteful way to get rid of a car, no? Surely you can recycle a lot of it?

Really good question. Of course you also have to factor in the extra time and resources it would take to recycle it first.
I have no idea if for an old car recycling it would be beneficial.

Just the metal on its own seems like it'd be worth it. I mean, that's gotta be a shitload of metal, right?

Good point, friend of my gf's stepsister works at Umicore, it's basically what they do. Recycle valuable materials from pretty much trash.
