Blizzard Sells Horse Inside WoW, Makes $2Million In 4 Hours

The Blizzard Pet Store is offering two new virtual pets to World of Warcraft players today, one of which has generated over $2 million in sales in its first four hours.

The "Celestial Steed" (right) is, according to its description on the Blizzard Store, "freshly born from the Twisting Nether" and allows players to "travel in style astride wings of pure elemental stardust."

More research is of course necessary but as of press time, it is widely believed that the Celestial Steed may be the fanciest horse ever born.

The fancy horse costs $25 and offers no new abilities to players, only riding as fast as a character's riding skill will enable it to go.

According to wow.com, the download queue as of 1:45 Pacific time was at 80,000. At $25 a pop, this means that this noble steed has generated sales of $2 million since its approximate debut at 9:30 this morning, or around $500,000 an hour.

1UP has reached out to Blizzard for commentary from the horse, and will report back if he is available.

Every people has his/her own interests, WoW players likes MMORPG games, and WoW is one of the most known MMORPG game ever.

Like me, I like WoW.

Lol, everyone has his own interests :)

I like it cause you can do other things while playing it; I can go on Facebook, calling with my girlfriend, chatting on msn, making some homework. You just don't need to concentrate that hard (like in a shooter, CoD for example). And it's chill to play when you've smoked some pot :tongue:
It's a game you can play on your own style (quest-only, PvP, dungeons, raids, ...).

But I'll never pay for a ingame horse or some else ingame item.
 
Well I agree, everyone has his own interests. I mean I have 600+ hours on SA:MP because I thought it was fun. I didn't gain anything from it, except for enjoyment. So if you enjoy it, play it :tongue:.

But anyway I played WoW for 10 minutes too, didn't really like it. But I don't know how fun it is when you're level 60 slaying some noobs :tongue:
