This was probably before Windows offered that, I remember installing Daemon Tools to load and crack San Andreas an erernity ago.

You're right, no one in their right mind would format a drive FAT nowadays.

I mainly use NTFS and exFAT (gf uses mac)

NTFS, ext4, ReiserFS...
Hands down the best is most likely BTRFS (B-Tree Reiser File System).

Sounds linux only, sadly I'm stuck with Windows for a number of reasons.
