Must have been one hell of a crash, apparently he rolled his car and it instantly caught fire (this is why I'm not 100% a fan of electric vehicles)

He was airlifted to the nearest hospital.

Fortunately he seems to be ok

You'd think they'd stop giving him the very fast cars to test...
On a slightly related note, anyone know what car it was?

When electric cars catch fire, it's 10 times worse than a normal vehicle...

Keyword being "when". Usually (like Tesla's), the car is build in such a way that catching fire is extremely unlikely.
And still, in this case the care burned completely down, but Hammond escaped with only a fucked up knee. So I'm guessing he had ample time to get out of the car before it caught fire?

You're probably right, I was being manipulated by the oil industry all along!

I do admit I have a bit of a rose-tinted outlook on electric cars. I firmly believe they are the future, and thus my brain instantly kicks into defensive mode every time they are mentioned.
