It's funny, because the original Echo myth is about a girl who falls in love with Narcissus, but because of a curse she can't make contact. Eventually, Narcissus falls in love with himself, and Echo began to waste away, her love never reciprocated.

I've read a lot of them on Ancient mythology when i was a kid (very much toned down, because goddamn do those guys fuck a lot), and I've kinda kept it up.
I do suggest Zeus Grants Stupid Wishes, it's a comedic take on a bunch of myths from all over the world.
